Work
Hi!
My name is Sena Rabrovianska Burns and I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. From an early age I loved to draw and have been fascinated by the creative process. During my youth in Bulgaria I was trained as a classical pianist and took the stage in numerous concerts. In addition to my musical training, I went on to study fine arts with a focus on fashion design at the New Bulgarian University.
I subsequently moved to Ottawa, Canada where I attended Algonquin College, graduating with honors and my degree in Interior Design. During this time in Canada I also received my Canadian citizenship. After graduation I married an American I had met as a freshman while traveling to Boston on holiday. I am excited to say that I received my American citizenship this past summer and am looking forward to my future here.
Even though I have followed many paths in my artistic explorations, it was my love of creating characters, developing their personalities, and ultimately bringing them to life which brought me to the post-baccalaureate program at SMFA/Tufts. I wanted to be exposed to a multi faceted curriculum which would help me achieve my goals. Upon receiving a Dean’s scholarship I began my studies at SMFA/Tufts and ultimately graduated from the program on May 21, 2017.
Now, after gaining many valuable technical and artistic skills, I am looking forward to my future and the new professional opportunities which lie before me.
In my spare time I like to visit the gym and attend my favorite barre class. It always makes me feel very rejuvenated and satisfied.
I love the ocean and surrounding landscapes. I feel very lucky that I live in New England, where I can visit and enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches and cliffs overlooking the sea.
